West Virginia will play Gonzaga Thursday at Consol Energy Center. The Mountaineers are the No. 10 seed and Gonzaga the No. 7 seed.
If the Mountaineers win that game a likely third-round game would be against No. 2 seed Ohio State from the Big Ten Conference. The Buckeyes play No. 15 seed Loyola, Md. in its first game.
For head coach Bob Huggins, it's a fifth consecutive NCAA tournament appearance since taking over the Mountaineers in 2007-08, and it's the seventh NCAA tournament in eight years for the Mountaineers.
It's Huggins' 19th appearance in the NCAA tournament in the past 21 years. He made the tournament in his final 14 seasons at Cincinnati before he was fired. He sat out the 2005-06 season and made the National Invitation Tournament in 2006-07 in his one seasons at Kansas State.
